VietNamNet Bridge - Following many successful cases, there is now a growing tendency in Vietnam to apply trade remedies to protect locally made products.
VietNamNet Bridge - Hoa Phat Group, VnSteel, Tisco and Viet Y Steel will benefit the most from the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s (MOIT) decision on July 18 to protect domestic production.
MOIT has confirmed that the agency is following necessary procedures to deal with the case in which four Vietnamese steel manufacturers have proposed to apply trade remedies against ingot steel and long steel imports.
Though demand is predicted to increase by 15 percent in 2015, steel manufacturers still anticipate a difficult year ahead because supply from both domestic sources and imports will increase even more sharply.
