Ba Den Mountain, one of the most prominent spiritual landmarks in southern Vietnam, has welcomed over 145,000 visitors on the fourth day of the Lunar New Year.
As part of a longstanding tradition, pilgrims gather at the sacred site in Tay Ninh to offer prayers, seek blessings, and usher in a prosperous new year.
A sacred pilgrimage to welcome the new year
From New Year's Eve, thousands of locals and tourists have made their way to Ba Den Mountain. Many embark on the journey late at night, eager to be among the first to receive the mountain’s spiritual energy as they collect New Year’s blessings.
To accommodate the growing number of visitors, the Ba Den cable car system has been operating continuously, ensuring smooth transportation up the mountain.
Meanwhile, the recently renovated Dien Ba temple has been welcoming an increasing number of worshippers, providing a more spacious and serene environment for prayer and reflection.
"This year, the temple has undergone significant improvements to better serve visitors," a representative from Sun World Ba Den Mountain shared.
The vibrant spirit of the Di Lac Spring Festival
The first month of the year is also a time for the annual Di Lac Spring Festival, held at the peak of Ba Den Mountain.
This long-standing tradition is a moment for visitors to send their wishes for health, happiness, and success in the year ahead.
Pilgrims from all over Vietnam come to participate in the festival’s sacred rituals, making offerings and praying for their families’ well-being.
The event blends deep-rooted traditions with the festive joy of the new year, making it one of the most anticipated spiritual gatherings of the season.
A peaceful retreat amidst nature
Despite the crowds, Ba Den Mountain remains a place of serenity. Many visitors take time to rest and enjoy the peaceful surroundings, with some spreading mats to relax amid the fresh mountain air.
The pleasant weather at the beginning of the year further enhances the experience, providing a warm and comfortable atmosphere for those making the pilgrimage.
