This morning at the Presidential Palace, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh hosted an official welcoming ceremony for Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, who is on his first official visit to Vietnam.
This marks the first time a Spanish Prime Minister has visited Vietnam. The visit comes as the two countries prepare to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2027.
Spanish Ambassador to Vietnam Carmen Cano De Lasala stated that through this visit, Spain aims to demonstrate its political will to maximize the potential of bilateral cooperation.
The visit is expected to help solidify and further strengthen the relationship between the two nations. The ambassador expressed confidence that a high-level return visit from Vietnam to Spain will take place in the near future.
During the visit, the two countries are expected to sign several cooperation agreements in areas such as investment, agriculture, political consultation, culture and sports, as well as between their respective diplomatic academies.
