VietNamNet Bridge – Chief Judge of the Slovakian Supreme Court Stefan Harabin has said that the training of Vietnamese court staff under existing co-operation agreements would continue smoothly.

President Truong Tan Sang (right) received Chief Judge of the Slovakian Supreme Court Stefan Harabin in Ha Noi on June 3.

Harabin, who is on a working visit to Viet Nam, was received in Ha Noi yesterday (June 3) by President Truong Tan Sang.

Sang said that judicial reforms were underway in Viet Nam so experience from countries with established justice sectors was useful, both theoretically and practically.

He said that the court sectors in both countries would press ahead with a productive partnership.

Judge Harabin said that together with economic renewal achievements, there were positive changes in procedural and judicial activities, in particular the revised constitution that was adopted in 2013.

The Slovakian official showed admiration for Vietnamese bravery in the past as well as its present efforts to protect its sovereignty.

He said he would talk to Slovakia's Prime Minister on measures to concretise agreements reached during his working visit to Viet Nam, including possible provision of ODA for Viet Nam's judicial sector.
