More female sea turtles may be produced as the world is getting warmer, according to media reports on Monday quoting new studies.

Sex of many reptile species, including sea turtles, is determined by temperature during incubation.

For sea turtles, more male hatchlings are produced as incubation temperatures are below 29 degree Celsius, and more females are produced above that temperature.

However, it will not endanger the sea turtle populations, at least for the next few decades, as is suggested in a study of Nature Climate Change.

In fact, sea turtle populations may possibly rise up, for males breed more frequently than females. (Agencies)
