VietNamNet Bridge - This morning (21/6), a tropical depression had strengthened into a typhoon. This is the 2nd storm in the East Sea and is internationally known as Bebinca. It is forecast that on the morning of June 23, the storm will be 170km from Quang Ninh Province to the east.

At 7am this morning, the storm was about 440km east northeast of Hoang Sa (Paracel) Islands. The strongest wind near the center of the storm was up to level 8 (from 62 to 74 km per hour).

In the next 24 hours, the storm will move between northwest and western northwest, at a speed of about 15 km per hour. By 7 am on June 22, the storm will be 220km east northeast from Hainan Island (China). Strongest wind near the center will be at level 9 (from 75 to 88 km per hour).

In the next 24 to 48 hours, it can change to west northwest direction, moving at a speed of 15 km per hour.

By 7 am on June 23, the storm will be about 170 km to the east of Mong Cai (Quang Ninh). The strongest wind near the center will be level 8 or level 9.

In the next 48 to 72 hours, the storm will move to the west northwest direction, at a speed of about 10 km per hour.

Because of the storm, the northern part of the East Sea (including Hoang Sa waters), will have strong wind and the sea will be very rough.

The Central Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Control has asked coastal provinces from Quang Ninh to Quang Ngai to inform boats.
