Held by the General Consulate of the Republic of Korea, the one-night only performance promotes cultural exchange on the occasion of 25 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

HCM City’s well-known tenor Ta Minh Tam and soprano Pham Khanh Ngoc will sing with South Korean vocalists under the baton of conductor Tran Vuong Thach, who is also the director of the HCM City Ballet Symphony Orchestra & Opera (HBSO).

“We are celebrating the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries with arias sung by renowned opera singers from the two countries,” said Park Noh Wan, General Consul of the Republic of Korea in HCM City. “I hope that city opera lovers will attend and grace our special and meaningful event.”

Besides masterpieces by Verdi, Puccini and Mascagni, the concert night will feature Korean folk music as well as Vietnamese romantic pieces and popular folk songs.

Tenor Ta Minh Tam will perform Tinh Ca (Love Song), a popular aria by late composer Hoang Viet, in addition to the famous aria “Nessun Dorma” from Puccini’s opera Turandot.

Soprano Pham Khanh Ngoc will perform in a duet with soprano Cho Hye Ryung from South Korea, singing arias from Bellini’s opera Norma, including “Mira, o Norma” and “Si fino all’ore estreme”.
