Update news ride-hailing services
While competition in the ride-hailing service market in Vietnam is fierce, the pressure on senior leaders of ride-hailing service firms is enormous.
E-riding firms have raised taxi fares, and traditional taxi firms are expected to follow the move.
More and more ride-hailing services are entering the market despite the dominance of the pioneers Grab and Gojek, formerly known as GoViet.
The number of Vietnamese using ride-haling services has increased rapidly in recent years, signalling the potential for the development of the sharing economy in the country.
While recovering from the disruption caused by the pandemic, transport businesses in Vietnam will have to invest even more time and money to change the colour of their licence plates in line with the latest policies.
Cars which provide passenger transportation services via ride-hailing platforms like Grab will have to have roof signs showing that they were “contract vehicles”.
E-charter autos, including Grab cars, with fully registered information may not need to install taxi signs or add taxi badges to their rearview mirror, according to the latest draft decree which the Ministry of Transport sent to the Government.
