He will be assisted by Nguyen Trung Hau and Pham Manh Long, who are also Vietnamese.

Tri, despite not being among the nation's top three referees, is the only official from Viet Nam recognised in Asia.

He has often been called upon to work at the Asian Football Confederation Champions League, the AFC Cup and the Asian Games.

Tri was invited to manage matches of the Chinese Super League in 2012 and its national sport games last year.

Recognised as a FIFA referee in 2001, Tri also worked at world Events, including qualifiers of the World Cup 2002, 2006, 2010 and 2014, as well as the Olympics.
