Early construction of a high-speed railway between HCM City and Can Tho is expected to spur inter-regional development.

The Vietnam Railway Project Management Board has submitted a project with total investment of US$95.88 million to improve railway connections between Vietnam's Lao Cai Station and China's North Hekou Station.

The money for railway maintenance is available, but remains inaccessible to maintenance units because no final decision has been made on whom to allocate capital - the Vietnam Railway Authority (VRA) or Vietnam Railways (VNR).

The Chinese workers will be quarantined for 14 days as required by Vietnam's Ministry of Health.

The Ministry of Transport’s Railway Project Management Board has invited bids for the upgrade of six dilapidated bridges along the North – South railway in central Da Nang city and Quang Nam province.
