The horror film The possessed corpse (Quy nhap trang) has continued its strong performance at the Vietnamese box office, surpassing the $4.6 million mark after its second week in theaters.
Despite the debut of three new films, The possessed corpse maintained its top position over the past weekend, earning an additional $1.08 million from 309,000 tickets sold, according to data from Box Office Vietnam.
The film's success has attracted international interest, with 23 countries - including the United States and South Korea - acquiring distribution rights.
On March 14, 2025, the South Korean action-comedy blockbuster Hitman 2 premiered nationwide in Vietnam, available in both subtitled and dubbed formats.
Before its official release, the film had already grossed over $400,000 from early screenings, selling approximately 300,000 tickets.

Over the weekend, it added another $464,000 to its earnings, bringing its total box office revenue in Vietnam to $864,000 and securing the number two spot.
Meanwhile, The ancestral house (Nha gia tien) was pushed down to third place, earning an additional $220,000. Despite the drop in ranking, the film has amassed an impressive total of over $9.4 million, making it one of the seven highest-grossing Vietnamese films of all time.
Hollywood’s re-released disaster thriller The sinkhole continues to perform well, ranking fourth at the box office with an additional $172,000 over the weekend.
The film has now accumulated a total of $1.08 million in Vietnam - an impressive feat for a film originally released 11 years ago.
The Oscar-winning animated film Lost in time (Lac troi) ranked fifth, bringing in $168,000 over the weekend and pushing its total revenue in Vietnam to $640,000 after two weeks.

In contrast, Mickey 17, the highly anticipated R-rated sci-fi film by Parasite director Bong Joon Ho, struggled with a modest debut of just $80,000 over the weekend.
However, the biggest box office disappointment was Hoang Thuy Linh’s music documentary We are Vietnamese. The film earned a mere $5,600 over the weekend, ranking among the lowest-grossing Vietnamese film openings in history. With low ticket sales and limited screenings, the film is almost certain to incur financial losses.
Looking ahead, the box office is expected to see a shake-up with the upcoming release of Disney’s live-action Snow White on March 21, 2025. The film promises to bring a classic fairytale to life with stunning visuals and a story cherished by generations worldwide.
