VietNamNet Bridge – In a raid against illegal gold miners in Phuoc Son district of the central province of Quang Nam, local police found a pit containing more than 480kg of explosives.

Police of Phuoc Son district have said to seize 482kg of industrial explosives, several hundreds of detonators and dozens of meters of fuses in a deep pit at an illegal gold mining site in Phuoc Duc commune.

A preliminary investigation indicates that the volume of illegal explosives was stolen by a former worker of a gold mining company in Phuoc Son from his company. This man then sold the explosives to illegal gold miners.

The people involved in the case have run away. The police are looking for them.
