The music video for Bac Bling by Hoa Minzy has reached 100 million views just 28 days after its release, marking a significant milestone for the popular singer.

Speaking to VietNamNet, Hoa Minzy expressed her deep gratitude and excitement. "The song is rooted in folk culture, and while I was confident in its appeal, I never imagined it would be my first MV to hit 100 million views so quickly. This success is the result of collaboration with artist Xuan Hinh, the people of Bac Ninh, and the whole country, as well as contributions from songwriter Tuan Cry and producer Masew," Hoa shared emotionally.

To celebrate this milestone, Hoa Minzy and her team are planning a special tribute to Bac Ninh in the coming days, focusing on practical community activities aimed at supporting underprivileged students.

This gesture is a way for Hoa to give back to the place that has shaped her artistic journey and continues to inspire her to contribute more to the arts.

A personal connection

One of the most talked-about scenes in the Bac Bling MV features an elderly woman with black-dyed teeth smiling while chewing betel nut.

The singer revealed that she personally chose Mrs. Nhung for this scene because she resembled Hoa’s late grandmother, who passed away due to COVID-19.

“My grandmother passed away because of COVID-19. The MV release event in Bac Ninh coincided with her death anniversary. Mrs. Nhung’s smile created such a special moment in the MV that it resonated with me and many viewers. If my grandmother were still alive today, I know she would be even happier than I am about the 100 million views,” Hoa Minzy said with emotion.

Government recognition and international attention

The viral success of Bac Bling has drawn attention from unexpected quarters. During a recent dialogue with over 300 young people about pioneering scientific and technological innovation, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh asked about the MV and praised its positive influence.

In another remarkable moment, Singapore’s Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, during his official visit to Vietnam, shared several vlog clips on his official TikTok channel that featured Bac Bling as background music.

This sparked excitement among Vietnamese netizens, as the song’s infectious energy complemented the Prime Minister’s exploration of Vietnamese culture.

With its catchy melody and a unique blend of rap, folk music (xam and cheo), and traditional quan ho singing, Bac Bling has become a musical phenomenon, dominating digital platforms since its release.

The MV also showcases the rich cultural heritage of Bac Ninh with iconic locations such as Do Temple, Dau Pagoda, and Phu Lang Pottery Village.
