At 10:05 PM on January 20 (local time), a special aircraft carrying Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, his spouse, and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation landed at Zurich Airport, marking the start of their visit to Switzerland to attend the 55th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF Davos) and engage in bilateral activities.
Following his successful official visit to the Czech Republic, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh arrived in Switzerland at the invitation of WEF Founder and Executive Chairman Klaus Schwab.
His participation in WEF Davos 55, held from January 20 to 23, 2025, underscores Vietnam’s commitment to fostering international cooperation and innovation.
Themed “Cooperation in the Smart Era”, this year’s WEF Davos gathers approximately 3,000 leaders from nations, international organizations, and global corporations. It provides a platform for discussions on development priorities and opportunities that Vietnam offers to international partners.
A packed agenda at WEF
During his two days at Davos, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is expected to participate in a variety of activities.
He will lead and attend plenary discussions, including sessions on:
“ASEAN: Unity for Sustainable Growth”
Vietnam-WEF strategic national dialogue
A special dialogue between WEF and the Prime Minister of Vietnam.
The Prime Minister will also preside over key forums addressing:
“Global Trade and Development in the Smart Era”
“High-Tech Investment in Vietnam: Taking Off in the Smart Era”
“Vietnam in the Digital Age: Innovation and Technology for the Future”
“Digital Infrastructure and Green Energy: Rising in the Smart Era”.
Advancing bilateral and multilateral relations
During his visit, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will meet with leaders of various countries, international organizations, and multinational corporations.
These engagements aim to enhance Vietnam’s relationships with global partners, attract foreign investment, and boost trade.
The Prime Minister plans to convey critical messages highlighting Vietnam’s determination, aspirations, and strategic vision for development over the next 20 years.
This marks Vietnam’s first multilateral diplomatic activity of 2025 and reaffirms the country’s position as a reliable, active, and responsible member of the global community.
In addition to WEF activities, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will participate in bilateral events to strengthen political trust and elevate the Vietnam-Switzerland partnership to new heights.
