VietNamNet Bridge - After some local newspapers reported on prostitution in many big cities, the Prime Minister has asked Hanoi, Hai Phong, Ho Chi Minh City and Nam Dinh to quickly assess the situation and report to the government before July 5.

Earlier, in the discussion on prostitution prevention held on June 13/6, Mr. Pham Ngoc Dung - Deputy Head of the Prostitution Prevention Policy Division of the Department of Social Evils Prevention - said the Department repeatedly requested inspection of prostitution in Do Son (Hai Phong) and Quat Lam (Nam Dinh province) but the local authorities confirmed that they did not discover prostitution there.

However, the local media said that there are a hundred of prostitutes who operated publically on Do Son and Quat Lam beaches. They show off their bodies in short skirts and cycle along the road to solicit visitors. The owners of motels here confirmed that they were protected.

In HCM City, according to Saigon Giai Phong newspaper, prostitution is rampant in many pubs, restaurants and karaoke parlous in HCM City, from striptease performances to bathing by beer, using vaginas to open beer bottles, shooting etc.
