On the evening of December 5, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh accompanied Jensen Huang, founder and chairman of NVIDIA, on a visit to Ngoc Son Temple, a walk around Hoan Kiem Lake, and a tour of Hanoi’s Old Quarter.
At the Ngoc Son Temple complex, the Prime Minister and Mr. Jensen Huang offered incense and listened to guides explain the history of landmarks such as the Pen Tower, Ink Slab, The Huc Bridge, and Ngoc Son Temple. They also learned about the legendary Hoan Kiem Lake and its iconic turtles.
The tour continued through the bustling streets of the Old Quarter, where the Prime Minister and Mr. Jensen Huang met and spoke with locals and tourists. They visited a bookstore and souvenir shop, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere of Hanoi’s cultural heart.
In the crisp evening air, the Prime Minister invited Mr. Jensen Huang and NVIDIA’s senior executives to experience Hanoi’s street food culture. They enjoyed dishes such as nem tai (fermented pork rolls) and nem chua ran (fried fermented pork rolls) paired with Truc Bach beer at Ta Hien Street, famously known as Hanoi’s “sleepless street” and a magnet for international visitors.
Mr. Jensen Huang is on his second visit to Hanoi (December 5–6) to announce strategic collaborations for NVIDIA in Vietnam. Earlier in the day, at the Government Office, the Prime Minister and Mr. Huang witnessed the signing of an agreement between the Vietnamese government and NVIDIA to establish an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Research and Development Center and an AI Data Center in Vietnam.
This agreement marks a significant milestone, reflecting NVIDIA’s commitment to making Vietnam its "second home." Mr. Jensen Huang expressed his admiration for Vietnam’s people, culture, and potential during the visit.
