VietNamNet Bridge - The explosion occurred in the afternoon of April 9 in Thanh My commune, Thanh Chuong district of Nghe An province, injuring eight people, including five in critical condition.

On April 9, Thanh Chuong district organized a training class for around 20 militiamen, including the exercise of throwing grenades (fake grenades).

Late afternoon, when militiamen were cleaning up the drill-ground, a big bang was suddenly heard. The explosion injured eight people, including five seriously injured. These victims were taken to the Vietnam-Germany Hospital in Hanoi.

It is said that one real grenade was among the fake grenades and it exploded.

Chairman of Thanh My commune, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Cuong, refused to provide information to the press, but affirmed the number of injured victims is eight.
