Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (RoK) have cooperation potential in science education and training, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam told Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education of the RoK Kim Sang Kon at their meeting in Hanoi on December 14.

He noted that the RoK is one of the top five science cooperation partners of Vietnam. The RoK could share experience and support Vietnam to develop new development models such as virtual university, distance education and e-learning, he said.
The Deputy PM urged the two countries’ relevant agencies to create favourable conditions for Vietnamese students to study in the RoK, focusing on vocational training and Korean teaching.
At the same time is enhancing cooperation in various fields such as culture and tourism on the basis of mutual trust and understanding, he suggested.
Vietnam is the third biggest exporter of the RoK, while the RoK is one of the largest investors in Vietnam, he said.
Kim Sang Kon agreed with the host that the relations between Vietnam and the RoK are developing across investment, trade, economics, culture and education.
The RoK is willing to share experience in new education methods with Vietnam, he said, adding that his Government will continue encouraging Korean businesses to pour investment in Vietnam, contributing to Vietnam’s exports and generating jobs for local workers.
The RoK’s Deputy Prime Minister is visiting Vietnam to attend the global human resources forum 2017 held in Hanoi the same day.
