Pop-orchestral show comes to HCM City

Viet Vision Advertising Co. Ltd and the Masteri deluxe property brand of Thao Dien Investment Joint Stock Company will hold their first music show The Master of Symphony in HCM City on November 20-22.

The event combines pop with orchestral music in an aim to honour the hit songs of the Vietnamese music industry.

Held at Hoa Binh Theatre, the show will be free and feature leading Vietnamese female singers Thanh Lam, Hong Nhung, My Linh, Thu Phuong and Ha Tran.

Seventy per cent of the tickets will be presented to residents of Masteri Thao Dien and the remaining 30 per cent will be given to winners of activities organised via the event's official website and fanpage at www.themasterofsymphony.com and www.facebook.com/themasterofsymphony.

Tea ceremony promotes peace

A tea ceremony will be held today (Oct 24) in Ha Noi to celebrate world peace and the friendship between Viet Nam and Japan.

Houunsai Sen Genjitsu, the former head of the Urasenke Chado School, will conduct the ceremony. With the ideal of "promoting peace through a bowl of tea", he has been working towards world peace with tea ceremonies for many years.

Genjitsu is 92 years old but still very active in promoting world peace through Chado, a Japanese tea offering ceremony. He was appointed as a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador in 2012 and Japan-UN Goodwill Ambassador in 2005.

After the tea ceremony, he will deliver a lecture themed ‘Peacefulness Together for Everyone'.

The event will take place on the occasion of United Nations Day at the Ha Noi Law University, 87 Nguyen Chi Thanh Street.

VN cities feature Cambodian culture

The 2015 Cambodia Culture Week will be celebrated in HCM City and the Cuu Long (Mekong) Delta province of Soc Trang from November 8 to 14, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced.

It will feature a series of traditional dance and music programmes besides exhibitions.

A delegation of 35 officials from the Cambodian Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts led by Secretary of State Menh Kossony will attend the event.

The event, organised jointly by the two nations, is meant to strengthen cultural exchanges and promote solidarity and friendship between them.
