The team detained two persons and seized nearly 300kg of explosives.

The two detained men are Nguyen Trong Cong, 43, a resident of Cam Xuyen's Cam Vinh Commune, and Dang Thanh Minh, 39, a resident of Ha Tinh City's Tran Phu Ward.

The police had been keeping a close watch on these suspects for a long time. They were caught on Saturday while they were about to deliver the explosives to an unknown person at a cemetery in Dai Nai Ward, Deputy Director of Ha Tinh Police Department Nguyen Tien Nam said.

About 285kg of explosives, hidden in their car, and the vehicle with the registration number 30F-0739 were seized by the police.

The detained men said the explosives had been bought in Quang Binh Province's Bo Trach District and transported to Ha Tinh Province.

The case is under further investigation.
