VietNamNet Bridge – Quang Ninh authorities suspended the operations of a coach after it was found carrying 117 people on February 24.

They suspended operations and fined the Ka Long Transport Company VND85 million (over $4,000).

Ka Long Company has been asked to check and report the case to the Department of Transportation of Quang Ninh Province before March 10.

At around 8pm on February 24, a group of traffic police of Tinh Gia District in Thanh Hoa province stopped the coach for traffic rule violations, but the driver fled.

The coach was then caught in Quang Xuong District in Thanh Hoa Province. The police found that this coach had up to 117 passengers while it is only allowed to carry 37 people.

The driver, Tran Van Phon, 30 years old, said the coach was on the  way from Nghe An to Mong Cai (Quang Ninh).

Thanh Hoa police seized the vehicle, and is holding the driving license for 30 days.
