The Police Department for Corruption, Smuggling and Economic Crimes under the Hanoi Police last Thursday caught Ly Thi Thuy Linh, 29, transporting 200 bottles of medicine labelled Pharcoter and 20 bottles of food supplement.

Linh, who is from the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai, failed to show any paperwork relating to the medicine’s origin.
She admitted to police that she was hired to transport the medicine by Ly Manh Thong, 32.
Searching Thong’s house in Hoang Mai District in Hanoi, the police seized more than 5,400 bottles of fake medicines labeled under different kinds trademarks.
The fake medicines weighed more than two tonnes.
Thong told the police that he had bought them from many sources in different provinces and cities.
