Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has signed a resolution on regular government meeting for June which focuses on utmost efforts to protect national sovereignty and ensure political security, social order and safety.

Under the resolution, the Vietnam Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with other agencies and forces persisted with tenacious struggle by political and diplomatic measures, proactively providing updated information about the East Sea and enlisting the support of the international community for Vietnam’s justice stance and goodwill in resolving East Sea-related issues.

The Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development directed law enforcement force at sea to continue implementing response measures in the field to assert Vietnam’s sovereignty, sovereign rights, jurisdiction over the exclusive economic zone (EEZ) and continental shelf under the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) and international law.

The Ministry of Public Security grasped the situation and coordinated with the armed forces to devise a plan to actively combat acts of destabilizing security and order, and prevent activities of hostile forces and reactionaries especially in major cities, industrial parks, economic and export processing zones.

The Ministry of Information and Communications directed media agencies to provide timely and accurate information about the East Sea situation and imparted the Party and State’s view and policies aimed at safeguarding sea and island sovereignty and creating a unanimous agreement among the people.

The Ministry’s exhibitions "Vietnam’s Hoang Sa and Truong Sa - historical evidence" contributed to raising public awareness and sense of responsibility for protecting the nation’s island sovereignty.

The Ministry of Construction worked with the Prime Minister’s Office to submit the PM a resolution on amendments and supplements to some solutions for removing business difficulties, supporting the market, dealing with bad debt and providing houses for officials, State employees, and armed forces under social housing development projects.

The government agreed to adjust conditions for foreign laborers working in Vietnam belonging to one of the following cases: Foreigners are experts or technical employees who can meet professional qualification requirements or  have at least 5 years of working experience in line with the position that foreigners are expected to work in Vietnam; foreigners who have college degrees or higher or equivalent degrees and appropriate professional training at foreign language centers or pre-school education establishments; Foreigners who have bachelor degrees or equivalent degrees and must have a suitable training fields with expertise in the teaching at general education establishments.

The resolution also requested ministries, agencies and localities to focus on guiding the implementation of measures to promote the development of information technology and improve the efficiency of information technology applications in all fields, particularly health, education, construction, tax and customs. Relevant ministries and agencies were also required to urgently build a shared national data base under the guidance of the Prime Minister.
