The local newspaper Quan doi Nhan dan (People’s Army) reported that Sotheby’s has been chosen to conduct the auction on the “Palette et tête de Taureau” (or Palette and Bull Head in English) and the “Femme assise en robe grise” (or A Woman Sitting in Grey Dress). The two paintings belong to the personal collection of Picasso’s granddaughter Marina Picasso.
Each painting is expected to fetch around 1 to 4 million EUR (equivalent to about 27 to 108 billion VND), said the newspaper.
Marina Picasso said she will donate the money gained in the auction to aid orphans in the Ho Chi Minh City-based Thu Duc SOS Village and underprivileged children in Paediatrics Hospital No 1.
