Unlike fishermen in other coastal areas in Vietnam, those in Quang Loi
are mainly the people who had a floating life on boats before. The local
government helped them settle their life on land by giving them with
free land.
Though they have land to build a house and their children can go to school, their life is somewhat dependent on the lagoon.
They work at night and return home at dawn.
The fruits of their day depend on the weather and the water.
