The contest this year is highlighting the beauty of the Vietnamese traditional ao dai, as well as the country’s nature, tangible and intangible cultural heritage, daily life, and tourism.
Le Thanh Hai, editor-in-chief of Vietnam Heritage Magazine, which is organising the contest, said: “The contest aims to preserve and promote the country’s nature, history, culture, religions and festivals, as well as introduce them to the community, especially to young Vietnamese and foreigners.”
Participants can submit their work as either a single photo or a photo essay to [email protected] by September 30.
The contest entries will be judged by photographers Hoang Trung Thuy and Doan Thi Tho, and film director Nguyen Quoc Hung, deputy director of the HCM City Television Studio.
The organisers will award 12 prizes and an additional six prizes for photographers under 25 years old. The winners will be announced in November in HCM City to celebrate Viet Nam Heritage Day on November 23.
The organisers will also select the top 100 photos in the competition to display at tourism agencies, museums, schools and universities in HCM City, Da Nang and Hanoi.
The photos will be also seen online at the website http://www.vietnamheritage.com.vn.
