VietNamNet Bridge – The Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) will call for investment in eight power projects with a total capacity of 8,700 MW, including: Vung Ang, Quang Trach 1, Thai Binh 2, Long Phu 1, Song Hau 1, Dakring, Hoa Thang and Blue Whale.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Bich, deputy general director of the PetroVietnam Power Company said these projects have been implemented under the plans. It is expected that from 2016 to 2019 Thai Binh 2, Long Phu 1 and Song Hau 1 projects will be completed and put into operation.
According to Bich, investment in power projects is a focus of PetroVietnam in the coming time and the group wants to attract foreign investors with financial and technological capability.
However, investment in the power industry requires foreign investors with good understanding of the market and policies of Vietnam, Bich added.
The government last week organized a conference to answer questions of investors from Japan, South Korea and other countries about these projects.
