VietNamNet Bridge – Some universities have sent their marketing officers to high schools, exam rooms to persuade high school graduates to continue the university education at their schools.

The students, who attended the high school finals in Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces some days ago, got surprised when meeting the people, who introduced themselves as the officers of the local and central universities and tried to persuade them to study at the universities.

The schools all have offered very attractive preferences to lure students. Especially, some of them said students would be able to study at their schools without having to attend any university entrance exams.

The marketing officers have also tried to approach to parents to invite their children to the schools, including the Hanoi Industry University, the Dong A University and the Technology and Industry Economics Junior College.

The leaflets delivered by the marketing officers to students and parents say that the schools would be the ideal choices for the students who fail the national entrance exams to state owned schools, to keep their dream of following university education.

No need to attend any exams to be eligible for studying at the schools, being sure of finding good jobs after the graduation proves to be the biggest attractiveness of the schools in the eyes of learners.

Students have also been promised the opportunities to go studying in Japan and South Korea at reasonable costs. When studying overseas, students can work during their study time, and enjoy the tuition reduction of up to 50 percent. Especially, the training establishments have affirmed that the monthly income the schools’ graduates can receive would be no less than VND30 million.

The parents, who brought their children to the Cam Binh and Cam Xuyen High Schools in Ha TInh, were delivered the documents about the enrolment plan of the Viet Hung Industry University and the Technique and Trade Junior College.

Viet Hung announced that it would accept the students who get at least 8 points (for three exam subjects) from the national university entrance exams.

However, the school did not clarify how many students it would enroll for every training major. The enrolment fee is VND60,000.

Meanwhile, the Technique and Trade Junior College does not require students to show the results of the university entrance exams. Students just need to finish high school would be able to apply for studying at the school.

Nguyen, a parent whose daughter would attend the 2013 university entrance exams, after reading the documents about Viet Hung school, said he would try to persuade the daughter not to attend the exam to the Trade University, a state owned school, as initially planned, but to apply for studying at Viet Hung.

“What’s the use of studying at a school in Hanoi, if it is too far and costly?” he said.

However, a lot of people have doubts about the training quality of the schools which set too easy requirements on learners.

Lan, a parent in Nghe An, said a lot of schools, especially people founded schools, have to run noisy marketing campaigns because they are thirsty for learners.

In related news, the Luong The Vinh University in Nam Dinh City has dismissed 45 lecturers because of the lack of students.
