Composer and singer Pham Hong Phuoc spent three months writing the song Viet Nam, Di, Hon va Yeu (Viet Nam, Go, Kiss and Love). The 25-year-old musician said it was inspired by his trips in the country.
The pop song has a fun melody and its lyrics are about the beauty of Viet Nam’s nature and landscapes.
“As a singer, I’ve had chances to travel to many places in Viet Nam. I’m so proud of our country and people,” said Phuoc, who became well-known after placing in the top three of Viet Nam Idol in 2012, a Vietnamese version of the US American Idol show.
“The song is great. Its melody is lovely. After listening to the song, I just want to go out and see our country,” said Truong Dinh Vu, a student at HCM City’s Open University.
Phuoc has also released a music video for the song on YouTube. It was filmed on HCM City’s Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street in District 1, where he and 50 young people sang and dance Viet Nam, Di, and Hon va Yeu together.
“It’s time to log out of Facebook. Let’s pack your bags and go,” said Phuoc, who has written songs to encourage young people to discover the world instead of spending time on social networks.
Like Phuoc, singer Dai Nhan wanted to produce a music video to introduce Viet Nam’s landscapes to people, especially youth.
Nhan co-wrote with composer Thang Long the pop song Ngay Luc Nay (Right Now) about a young’s couple’s trip around Viet Nam.
“I think a love story on the video makes it closer to young audiences,” said Nhan, winner of a singing contest for teenagers in the South in 2008.
The 29-year-old singer has released two extended plays and several singles, which have been at the top of local music boards.
The song, produced by QUAD Entertainment, features the voices of Nhan and Truong Thao Nhi, 22, who is known for taking part in The Voice of Viet Nam in 2013.
The video was filmed near the sea at Ho Tram and Ho Coc in Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province, and Ninh Thuan Province.
Nhan said that many people had left messages about touring the country after watching his video.
Duc Tuan, one of the best tenors in the country, has also released his new single Muon Nghe Tieng Song (Listen to the Waves), a production by composer and producer Vo Thien Thanh.
Thanh, who is popular for producing chill-out music products for many young singers like Ha Anh Tuan and Pham Thu Ha, wrote about his love of Viet Nam’s sea in the song. Its beat is a mixture of classical music with electronic dance music.
The song attracted more than 65,000 listeners on social media websites after only three days.
“Thanh and I want not only to introduce a beautiful song but also to raise people’s awareness on sea protection,” said Tuan, 36, who rose to fame after winning first prize at the HCM City Television song contest in 2000.
