The Vietnamese leader gave his best
regards to General Giap, the first commander-in-chief of the Vietnamese
People’s Army, and an excellent student of President Ho Chi Minh.
On this occasion, the Party leader praised doctors and
medical staff at the Central Military Hospital 108 in Hanoi for
taking good care of the General, hoping that they will continue caring
for his health.
The same day, Defence Minister
General Phung Quang Thanh and Secretary of the Hanoi Municipal Party
Committee Pham Quang Nghi also visited General Giap.
A National Assembly delegation on August 23 visited General Vo Nguyen Giap on the occasion of his 102ndbirthday (August 25) at Central Military Hospital 108 in Hanoi.
Led by NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, the delegation included NA Vice
Chairman Uong Chu Luu and Head of the NA Office Nguyen Hanh Phuc.
General Giap is an excellent student of late President Ho Chi Minh and an outstanding leader of the Vietnamese People’s Army.
Hung extended his best regards to the General and informed him of the
NA’s renewal achievements and recent public poll on the draft amendments
to the 1992 Constitution.
The Chairman requested the hospital’s doctors and medical staff to
continue caring for the General in order to improve his health so that
he can contribute his intellect to the country’s development in the new
context.
General Giap expressed his belief that the National Assembly together
with the Government and people will endeavour to achieve new
socio-economic development successes.
