VietNamNet Bridge - Located at the southern gateway of Hanoi, Yen So Park in Hoang Mai District is compared to the city’s green lung. The park opens for free from April 4. Some pictures of the park before the opening:
As the largest urban park in Vietnam, the largest green park in Hanoi, Yen So has a total area of 323 hectares. Many works inside the park are still under construction.
Construction started at the end of 2007, with a total investment of $2 billion. This is the largest project in Hanoi’s expansion plan.
The initial goal is to build an international class public park with schools, an exhibition center, a cultural preservation area, commercial centers and housing projects on a total area of 327 hectares around the Yen So Lake.
The land area devoted to the park and the lake is 280ha.
The investor is Gamuda Berhad Group of Malaysia. The park will be surrounded by a new urban area called Gamuda City.
Before the park was built, this area was low-lying, polluted and barren.
At present, there are many new works in this area, including an exhibition house, a boat house, an outdoor theater, a maze garden, a cultural village and many lovely landscapes.
The park will be open for free. At present, Gamuda Land Vietnam is assigned to manage the park.
