The painting Nguyet Uoc (Promise under Moonlight). depicting the love between Thuy Kieu and Kim Trong in Kieu’s Tale by Nguyen Du, was auctioned at Chon’s Auction House in Hanoi on Sunday for US$83,000.
VN great painter passes away
VietNamNet Bridge – Painter Nguyen Tu Nghiem, one of Vietnamese greatest artists, passed away yesterday at 10.30am. He was 94. The famous painter had a stroke earlier last month and had been hospitalised ever since.
