More than 100 people, including military and police personnel, are searching for two high school students who went missing while swimming at a beach in Ninh Thuy, Ninh Hoa Town, Khanh Hoa Province.

Early on March 8, the two students, aged 16-18, from Tran Quy Cap High School, went to the Ninh Thuy beach to play and swim.

Nearly two hours later, their families became alarmed when they did not return home. They immediately searched for the boys and, upon reaching the beach, found two pairs of sandals and bicycles left on the shore- but no sign of the students. The families quickly alerted local authorities for assistance.

Challenging conditions at sea

The area is a popular spot for locals to relax and swim. However, today’s rough sea conditions, with strong waves, forced many boats to seek shelter.

According to Tran Thai Bao, Chairman of the Ninh Thuy Ward People’s Committee, more than 100 personnel, including soldiers and police officers, have been mobilized to conduct the search and rescue operation.
