The Ministry of Public Security has directed its specialized units to coordinate with the Nam Dinh Provincial Police in carrying out rescue operations, investigating, and addressing the aftermath of a tragic car accident in Nam Dinh.
According to information from the Ministry, at approximately 3:00 PM on January 30, 2025, at Km153+500 on National Highway 21 in Nam Van Ward, Nam Dinh City, Nam Dinh Province, a seven-seater vehicle driven by Nguyen Thi Dung, born in 1964 and residing in Ba Dinh District, Hanoi, lost control. The car veered off course, crashed into a roadside barrier, and plunged into a water canal.
The accident resulted in seven fatalities and two injuries.
Preliminary reports identified the deceased as Nguyen Thi Dung, her husband Nguyen Duc Chinh (born 1956), their daughter Nguyen Ngoc Anh (born 1989), and her grandchild Tran Ngoc Minh Khue (born 2017, daughter of Ngoc Anh).
Other victims included Nguyen Van Tien (born 1986, residing in Thanh Oai, Hanoi), a woman named Dung (born 1991), and Nguyen Quang Minh (born 2023).
The two injured survivors were identified as Nguyen Ngoc Quynh (born 1991, daughter of Nguyen Thi Dung) and Nguyen Ngoc Diep (born 2013).
Upon receiving news of the accident, the Ministry of Public Security immediately instructed relevant units to coordinate with the Nam Dinh Provincial Police to conduct rescue efforts, investigate the cause, and handle the situation.
Authorities were also directed to collaborate with local government agencies to offer support to the victims' families and ensure public order and security in the area.
