The festival includes an exhibition entitled “HCM City’s Foreign Affairs: Integration and Development”, a traditional Vietnamese ethnic group costume display, art performances, and a “Favourite Song” competition.

Foreign nationals will be allocated space to celebrate their own culture and cuisine and have the chance to try their hands in a traditional Vietnamese cooking contest.

A concert of the Southern folk music known as “don ca tai tu”, performed on typical regional riverboats, will be a festival highlight.

The municipal People’s Committee plans to publish 1,000 books examining Ho Chi Minh City’s foreign affairs to commemorate Vietnam’s diplomatic relationship anniversaries with 25 countries.

It said the festival will promote Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnam more broadly in the hopes of attracting foreign investment and consolidating ties with international friends.
