Dr. Truong Quang Dinh, the hospital’s deputy director said that liver and kidney functions of Phi Phung is normal but abdominal and chest pressure rose, so doctors had to use a high frequency respiratory machine.

After the separation surgery, the heart rate of Phung was slow and on November 11, doctors had to use machine to maintain the heart beat at the level of 100 times per minute.

To reduce abdominal pressure, doctors decided to temporarily stop the belly skin dragging, which was initially planned to drag by 5 mm per day until the skin edges closed together.

"Phi Phung may face extraordinary events in the coming days. The entire staff is determined to use every means to save Phi Phung and we always have hope," Dr. Dinh wrote on his facebook.

The other baby, named Phi Long is also supported with breathing machine, but only with low frequency. The baby is now in good situation.

Doctors plan to feed the baby through the stomach from today, November 29.
