Till now, the APG and a branch of the AAG undersea cable network linking Vietnam with Singapore are still disrupted.

As scheduled, problems of the AAG and APG will be resolved this month and in June, respectively.

According to the Vietnam Telecommunications Authority under the Ministry of Information and Communications, in the upcoming time, telecom providers will be requested to study and build an additional four to six undersea cable lines to make it in line with the draft information and communications infrastructure planning in 2021 – 2030.

Of which, two more cable lines, ADC and SJC1, with landing points located in the central province of Binh Dinh, will be put into service by the end of this year or early next year.

Vietnam is currently connected to international networks via five international undersea cable systems: APG, AAG, AAE-1, IA, and SMW-3, of which AAG is responsible for most internet traffic between Vietnam and the world.

Early this month, two undersea cable lines, IA and SMW3, were fully fixed and problems detected on a branch S1H of AAE-1 were resolved on May 20, restoring data transmissions of the lines.
