The Ministry of Industry and Trade has proposed increasing the development of solar power and exploring the feasibility of small modular nuclear reactors, including floating nuclear power plants, to address potential power shortages.

A system simulating the VVER-1200 nuclear reactor was launched in Hanoi on December 9, which is part of a Technical Assistance Project between the Vietnam Atomic Energy Agency and the International Atomic Energy Agency.

 Japan will help Vietnam build nuclear power plants in the central province of Ninh Thuan with the highest level of international safety standards.
