Storms over August 29-31 are predicted also ravage the northern central provinces of Thanh Hoa and Nghe An.   

The northern provinces of Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Son La, Hoa Binh, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Ha Giang, Cao Bang, Bac Kan and Lang Son have been warned of flash floods and landslides.

According to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, Thai Binh and Red rivers would see another flood on August 29-September 1. The Da, Thao and Lo rivers would also face the same situation.

The northern region recently faced heavy rains, causing severe floods and landslides in many localities.

Some residential areas in Hanoi’s suburbs were isolated by flood water for around two weeks.

Several houses in the northern province of Hoa Binh fell into the Da River due to erosion, which was the result of heavy rains.
