The information was given by a representative from the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) at a meeting last Friday on the establishment of new airlines.

Vingroup’s Vinpearl Air selected Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi as its base, however, no prime flight slots are available for the carrier’s flights.

Vinpearl Air is expected to launch the first commercial flight in July 2020 with a fleet of six planes. The firm plans to raise the aeroplane number to 36 by 2025.

According to the ACV representative, the selection of Noi Bai International Airport is feasible, but the airport has run out of prime hours for Vinpearl Air. Tan Son Nhat Airport also sees the same situation.

Dinh Viet Thang, head of the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam, Noi Bai International Airport’s infrastructure will still be able to serve the 10-airplane fleet of Vinpearl Air by 2021.

He hailed Vingroup’s human resource plan for the carrier. Under an agreement signed recently, Vingroup and the Canadian group's UK-based CAE Oxford Aviation Academy will jointly set up the VinAviation High-tech Human Resources Training School and Vinpearl Air Flight Training Centre.

The training facilities will host the first course of 400 pilots and mechanics to serve Vinpear Air.

Deputy Transport Minister supported the setup of new airlines. He, however, emphasised that aviation security must be the top priority. Airlines are not allowed to raise their fleet which is out of the aviation sector’s supervisory capacity. Dtinews
