VietNamNet Bridge – On May 15, at an extraordinary meeting, the People’s Council of Nghe An Province elected Mr. Nguyen Xuan Duong, the province’s Deputy Party Secretary and Deputy Chairman as the Chairman in the 2011-2016 term.

Duong will replace Mr. Ho Duc Phoc, who has been appointed as the Party Secretary of Nghe An.

Also at the meeting, the Nghe An People’s Council elected Ms. Dinh Thi Le Thanh, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Vice Chair of the Nghe An People's Council as Deputy Chair of Nghe An in the 2011-2016 period.

Duong was born in 1958 in Nghe An. He is a doctor of education management. He previously was the Chair of Hung Nguyen District, Chief of staff of the Nghe An People’s Committee, Director of the Nghe An Department of Internal Affairs, Head of the Provincial Party Committee’s Propaganda Department and served as the province’s Vice Chair from 2007.
