The "Light Concert – Welcoming New Year 2025" captivated tens of thousands of spectators with a dazzling drone light show featuring 2,025 drones synchronized with symphonic music. Held by West Lake in Hanoi on January 18, the event left audiences with unforgettable impressions.

A night of music, light, and celebration

Crowds thronged Lac Long Quan and Nguyen Hoang Ton streets as well as neighboring areas to witness the grand artistic performance. Despite Hanoi’s cool evening temperature of 17°C, the weather was ideal for both performers and attendees. Many young people arrived early to secure prime viewing spots, with some staking out positions as early as 3 PM.

Thuy, a local attendee, shared her excitement after the show, marveling at the beauty of the skyborne images created by the drones. "The program was amazing. I can’t believe technology can create such stunning visuals in the sky," she said.

Star-studded performances and vibrant atmosphere

The stage featured renowned artists such as My Tam, Ha Le, Do Hoang Hiep, and Kieu Anh. Each performance drew enthusiastic cheers from the audience, particularly from fans thrilled to see their idols live.

The stage design was equally impressive, combining eye-catching colors and thoughtful arrangements to ensure even those farther away could fully enjoy the show’s audio-visual splendor.

My Tam, one of Vietnam’s most beloved pop stars, spent significant time engaging with her fans on stage. Her medley of hits—including "Anh Chua Biet Dau," "Vi Em Qua Yeu Anh," and "Hoa Mi Toc Nau"—earned thunderous applause. The audience was particularly moved by her heartfelt connection and dynamic performance.

Drone light show: A groundbreaking spectacle

The highlight of the evening was the unprecedented drone light show, which marked the first time 2,025 drones were used in such a large-scale display in Hanoi. Set to a symphonic soundtrack, the drones painted the night sky with intricate images, telling stories about Hanoi’s rich history and cultural heritage.

One striking moment was when the drones created the image of the Cat Linh–Ha Dong metro line, symbolizing Hanoi’s modernization efforts. Each drone was meticulously programmed to align with the music, producing mesmerizing effects and movements.

In his opening remarks, Le Quoc Minh, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan newspaper, expressed hopes that the event would become an annual tradition. “This is the inaugural event of the Hanoi International Light Festival, which we aspire to make a cultural and tourist highlight for the capital," he said.

The "Light Concert – Welcoming New Year 2025" set the tone for a year of artistic and cultural celebrations, creating lasting memories for all who attended.
