Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 Pro models are expected to feature a redesigned rear camera layout stretching across the back of the device. However, it won’t look exactly like the viral renders circulating online.

In the latest Power On newsletter, Mark Gurman of Bloomberg clarified that the iPhone 17 Pro will not have the two-tone back design depicted in many recent concept images.

“iPhone 17 Pro will not feature a two-tone rear. The camera module will match the color of the device’s body,” Gurman stated.

Some leaked concept images have shown bold two-tone styles - such as a dark black camera bar contrasting against a silver back. But as with many internet renders, these do not accurately represent the final design.

While the new rear camera bar may resemble the style of Google Pixel phones, Gurman believes the overall design of the iPhone 17 Pro will remain relatively consistent with current models.

According to The Information, Apple has opted for a half-glass, half-aluminum design for both the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max to improve durability.

The glass section will maintain support for wireless charging, while the partial aluminum frame will reduce the risk of breakage from drops.

This year, Apple is also introducing an all-new model called the iPhone 17 Air - a super-slim device that will replace the increasingly unpopular “Plus” line.

All four models in the iPhone 17 lineup - iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and iPhone 17 Air - are expected to debut in September, continuing Apple’s traditional launch cycle.
