Listing VJC shares of Vietjet Air in February 2017, Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao is among the top three richest stock billionaires with assets worth VND26.2 trillion.
Thao now owns more than 10.3 million HD Bank shares and 39.5 million VJC which has seen a steady price increase from VND80,000 to VND143,000.
Vietjet’s CEO has also been named among the 100 most influential women in the world, and recognized by Forbes as a dollar billionaire.
Besides well-known faces such as Pham Nhat Vuong and Trinh Van Quyet, there are emerging names who are the owners of companies entering the bourse in 2017. |
Entering the bourse in August 2017, VPB shares of VP Bank immediately caught investors’ attention because the bank is considered a pioneer in developing consumer credit.
VP Bank president Ngo Chi Dung became the 20th richest stock billionaire with 70.2 million VPB, worth VND2.8 trillion. His mother, Vu Thi Quyen, and wife, Hoang Anh Minh, are also big shareholders of VP Bank who hold 130 million shares in total, valued at VND5.35 trillion. They both are among the top 20 stock billionaires.
With a large amount of shares being held, Dung’s family has become the fourth richest family. The first and second positions belong to Pham Nhat Vuong (president of VIngroup) and Trinh Van Quyet (FLC), while the third position belongs to Tran Dinh Long of Hoa Phat Group
Besides Dung, VP Bank has other billionaires. They include Bui Hai Quan, vice president, who holds 36 million VPB worth VND1.424 trillion. Quan’s wife, Kim Ngoc Cam Ly, holds 66.3 million VPB, worth VND2.64 trillion.
Nguyen Thu Thuy, the wife of Lo Bang Giang, vice president of VP Bank, holds shares worth VND1.85 trillion.
With Van Phu Invest (VPI) listing its shares in late 2017, its president and CEO To Nhu Toan were added to the list of billionaires who have more than VND1 trillion worth of stocks. His 40 million VPI has value of VND1.44 trillion.
