The Netherlands fully supports the EU stance on the issue and remains hopeful that concerned parties will soon initiate a peaceful resolution to settle the territorial dispute, said ambassador to the Netherlands Nguyen Van Doan.

At a reception for visiting National Assembly (NA) Vice Chairman Uong Chu Luu on July 1, Doan reported on the state of affairs of the Embassy and the Vietnamese community.

Doan asked Luu to provide a more detailed update about the current state of affairs at home, tensions in the East Sea and the Party and State’s stance on the territorial dispute with China.

Luu laid stress on the Party, State and people’s determination to protect sovereignty through peaceful solutions and said that Vietnam is collecting the legal evidence to deal with the dispute in line with international law.

Luu asked the Vietnamese Embassy in the Netherlands to create the best possible conditions for Vietnamese residents, especially second and third generations and students to integrate into the resident country.

The NA will revise the Housing Law, to facilitate overseas Vietnamese to purchase homes in Vietnam, he revealed.
