They are expected to approve a number of bills and resolutions which were discussed in the first phase of the session taking place from May 22 to June 10.
The bills to be passed include those on pricing (amended), civil defense, protection of consumer rights (amended, electronic transactions (amended), bidding (amended), exit and entry of Vietnamese citizens, entry, exit, transit and residence of foreigners in Vietnam, and people’s public security.
Among resolutions to be endorsed are those on mid-term public investment capital allocation, a vote of confidence for position holders at State apparatus elected or approved by the National Assembly and local People’s Councils.
Notably, the deputies are set to pass a resolution on specific mechanisms for Ho Chi Minh City, the largest economic and financial hub in Vietnam, and a resolution on a 2% VAT cut.
They will also spend time discussing bills on housing (amended), real estate business (amended), water resources (amended), telecommunications (amended), citizenship identity (amended), and management and protection of national defense works and military zones.
The mid-year session is scheduled to be wrapped up on June 24. The closing session will be broadcast live on the national radio and television system.
