The event gathers nearly 600 amateur Vietnamese actors and musicians from 24 provinces and cities nationwide. In many plays like Cái Cũ – Cái Mới (Old Thing – New Thing), Quả Báo (Retribution) and Ai Là Thủ Phạm? (Who is the Culprit?), the performers will convey messages about state policies on environmental protection in order to improve public awareness about pollution, following a civilised lifestyle and at the same time, criticise contemporary environmental issues across the country.
The festival also creates chances for amateur performers to exchange and enhance their experience as well as explore and honour theatrical talents.
“We believe that through their talent, dedication and passion, the actors and artists will present to the public excellent plays, leaving unforgettable memories in every citizen of Quảng Nam in particular and visitors to the province in general,” said Nguyễn Công Trung, deputy director of the Department of Grassroots-level Culture.
Held by the Department of Grassroots-level Culture, Department of Science, Technology and Environment under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in cooperation with Quảng Nam’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the event will conclude on September 9. — VNS
