The NA's Law Committee announced at the opening of its 13th plenary session in Da Lat City, the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong on April 1.

The NA's Law Committee warned of the possibility of being overloaded with the building of laws and ordinances in the last two years of its tenure 2014 and 2015 as there remain a large number of bills and ordinances on the agenda.

Chairman of the NA Law Committee Phan Trung Ly said that only bills that are really essential should be added to the law building programme in 2014 and 2015. He suggested priority be given to draft laws related to the implementation of Constitution 2013 including state apparatus organisation, regulations on socialist-oriented market economy, human rights, citizen rights and duties and others.

The NA Law Committee proposed the NA Standing Committee to supplement four draft laws to its agenda in 2014 including draft laws on Civil Status, Information Security, State Audit (amended) and the National Assembly's Resolution on Participating in the Peacekeeping Forces in the World.

Some notable draft laws among the 34 draft laws in 2015 are the draft law on Election of Deputies to National Assembly and People's Council, draft law on Organisation of Local Administration, Civil Code (amended), draft law on Protection, Care and Education of Children, draft law on Referendum, and Press law (amended).

The working session of the NA's Law Committee will continue for four days.
