Nam lost to Yun-Seong Chung of South Korea 4-6, 2-6 after one hour and 17 minutes.
Nam is world No 385, while Chung is world No 298.
Earlier, the southern province of Tay Ninh-born player beat Nam Ji-sung of South Korea, world No 298, 6-7(4) 7-6(9) 6-2 in the first round.
With this result, Nam will gain six points in the ATP rankings and receive US$1,000.
The event has a total prize fund of US$50,000, drawing players in the world’s top 300 including top seed Yoshihito Nishioka of Japan, ranked 81 in the world.
