Viet Nam’s top tennis player, Ly Hoang Nam of Binh Duong Province, easily took  the men’s singles title at the National Best Tennis Players Tournament that wrapped up in Nghe An Province on Saturday.

Nam defeated Pham Minh Tuan of Da Nang 6-2, 6-0 in the final.

Trinh Linh Giang also of Binh Duong and his teammate Nguyen Van Phuong shared the third place.

On the women’s side, Tran Thi Tam Hao of HCM City took the title, beating Phan Thi Thanh Binh of Da Nang 6-2, 7-5.

Tran Thuy Thanh Truc of HCM City and Nguyen Thi Be Xuyen of Kien Giang were third place finishers.

Earlier, Le Quoc Khanh and Lam Quang Tri of HCM City defeated Hoang Thanh Trung and Ngo Duc Duong of the Police to win the men’s doubles title.

The women’s doubles title was won by Phan Thi Thanh Binh and  Do Dan Thi of Da Nang, who beat Be Xuyen and Nguyen Minh Huyen of Kien Giang.

The five-day tournament, jointly organised by the Viet Nam Tennis Federation, provincial departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Nghe An Tennis Federation, attracted the participation of 31 best players in the country.
